It's time to unveil the new EVO line of VOODOO+ and VOODOO+ Pro loudspeakers.
We continue to challenge the standards of in-car audio. Our corporate culture, focused on high-quality sound and the quest for performance, drives us to constantly challenge our speakers.
Our goal: uncompromising sound with formidable efficiency!
What's new on the EVO line?
The EVO line is characterized by outstanding sound. Our R&D work focused exclusively on speaker sound. The electronic architecture has remained the same, as it is highly efficient and intuitive to use and operate.
Progress was therefore focused on acoustics, the desire to create a new sound for PEOPEO loudspeakers without increasing energy consumption. In concrete terms, three essential elements have been redesigned: the mid/bass driver, the port and the crossover.
The loudspeaker
With this new reference, we have modified one of the key components of our product. This change is of great importance, and radically alters the speakers' acoustic behavior.
The research for this new piece focused on efficiency, dynamics, power handling and frequency response.
Filtering
PEOPEO loudspeakers feature digital crossover controlled by an integrated DSP. The change of loudspeaker reference therefore obliged us to review our crossover parameters.
The speakers still have three sound presets, but each has been improved and refined to make the most of our new speaker reference.
On a more technical level, we've considerably increased the number of EQ points. The result is a much more defined, precise sound.
This fine-tuning work was carried out with our acoustician partner Marc Levasseur.
Event
The third essential point of the acoustic work was the redesign of the vent, the keystone of the system. bass-reflex acoustic that we use on our loudspeakers.
This has been redesigned for maximum efficiency, resulting in a wider frequency response in the bass range.
The shape of the vent has also been redesigned to minimize the problems of airflow noise, which can create parasitic sounds and therefore alter listening quality.
The result
The result is a new sound for PEOPEO loudspeakers. The sound signature evolves towards a more powerful, broader and more dynamic sound. It's also much more faithful, thanks to the fine-tuning of the digital filters.
The change of driver has considerably improved power handling, particularly in the low frequencies, while increasing the overall power of the speaker. We gained almost 6 dB SPL, from 118 dB to 124 dB SPL max!
The last essential point in PEOPEO's philosophy of sustainable development is the increased efficiency of our loudspeakers. We now have a product with acoustic performance worthy of Hi-fi loudspeakers, with a considerable gain in power, a wider frequency response, a more stable sound, and all this without increasing its energy consumption!
Our amp's power consumption remains the same, and its autonomy unchanged. It's not magic, but a great deal of R&D work and determination on our part!
