Focus on : Marc Levasseur, electro-acoustic engineer

PEOPEO wants to offer all music lovers a new sound experience based on emotion.
With this in mind, the brand has been collaborating for over a year withelectro-acoustic engineer Marc Levasseur.

Who is Marc, PEOPEO's electro-acoustician?

Passionate about music since childhood, he learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and a half, and has never been without it since.
Initially a general engineer with a degree from Arts & Métiers, it was only natural that his passion should catch up with him and guide him towards the world of audio.
He began his career in sound at Harman International, where he was in charge of developing JBL hi-fi systems for Peugeot and Citroën vehicles.

He then went on to develop tools for simulating the acoustics of car interiors, designed to optimize the audio systems of leading Hi-Fi brands.

His diverse experience now enables him to work independently as an electro-acoustic engineer. By definition, he is involved in the design and development of loudspeakers, amplifiers and speakers, as well as in the overall sound design of audio systems.
His passion and curiosity for the world of music have enabled him to develop a keen sense of listening that he puts to good use through his main working tool: his ears.

What are the key stages in acoustic development?

The collaboration between Marc Levasseur and PEOPEO is based on an exchange of know-how and experience. Their common mission is to offer you optimal sound rendering.
To achieve this, our electro-acoustic engineer worked in stages:
1- Listen to the loudspeaker. As measurement is not a sufficient tool to objectivize sound rendering in its entirety, listening is a key moment in the work process.
2 - Analyze and understand the elements to be optimized.
3 - Improve the product by proposing possible solutions while respecting the brand's various constraints (see contribution below).

What contribution has the electro-acoustician made to the development of VOODOO?

On theVOODOO our electro-acoustic engineer had to improve the existing sound rendering by integrating an atypical use constraint: outdoors and positioned on the ground or on a stand.

Ensemble and Marc Levasseur worked on the development of a passive filter.
A passive filter is an electronic system that modifies the frequency response of an audio signal.
The signal sent by the amplifier passes through this filter and is attenuated so that only a certain band of frequencies reaches the loudspeakers.

This allows the signal to be distributed between the different loudspeakers according to their capabilities, and also, if necessary, to correct certain acoustic artifacts.
As a reminder, frequency is the number of vibrations per second. A low frequency produces a low-pitched sound, and a high frequency produces a high-pitched sound.
The two parties involved in stiffening the structure of theVOODOO loudspeaker perfectly fulfil this function.

Their lively sound captures all the colors and emotions of the music. VOODOO PRO sonos are powerful and dynamic, unlike many speakers on the market whose sound is flat and dull.
In short, VOODOO Bluetooth speakers are the fruit of a union between technology, sound quality and a passionate love of music!
